Whitetail Hunting
Featured on East Meets West Outdoors
Beau Martonik of East Meets West Outdoors and I each grew up hunting whitetails in Pennsylvania. So, early November through December is a time near and dear to each of our hearts. That's the time that extends from the whitetail rut until rifle season opens just after Thanksgiving. We've talked a lot about whitetail hunting over the years, and the toll all-day sits during the whitetail rut take on a hunter. I decided to help other hunters decrease the effect of that toll.
So, I wrote an article for eastmeetswesthunt.com all about managing your body and your mind during the whitetail rut. If you want to stay in the stand, and feel good mentally and physically while you stay there, click the link below and follow the advice during your rut-cation this year.

Picture this: You’ve just finished skinning and quartering a bull elk you’ve worked just about every part of your ass off to kill. Now, you have some roller coaster miles ahead of you. The first stretch of that roller coaster is a steep uphill stretch. Then you have yourself a spicy descent before you hit another long uphill, march. You grab your pack and have a look at the meat as it hangs in game bags; you want to get it all back to the truck as quickly and in as few trips as possible. But there’s a problem — you don’t know how much you should load into your pack at one time.
